Officials learn woman never made visit to home

ORLANDO, Fla. – Authorities say a former Department of Children and Families worker was recently arrested after she was accused of falsifying records.

Mable Peters was arrested on Oct. 30 after being accused of falsifying records about visits to multiple children, according to an investigation in 2010.

Peters allegedly reported she made a visit on a night of bad weather, and a supervisor followed up with the family involved. It was learned that Peters was never there, DCF said.

According to DCF officials, Peters admitted to authorities with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that she lied.

A DCF official confirmed that none of the falsified records resulted in any injuries to children.

Authorities said she was transferred to desk duty.

Officials said Peters resigned when she was told she would be fired.
