Former Titusville man accused of running over motorcyclists in Tampa

Video shows car run over motorcyclists in road-rage incident

A 31-year-old former Titusville man has been accused of running over a pair of motorcyclists in the Tampa Bay area on Monday evening, News 6 partner Florida Today reports.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report,  Robert Paul Vance, who now lives in Land O'Lakes, exchanged "choice words" with one of the motorcyclists, 46-year-old Joseph Calderazzo, on Monday evening just prior to the incident in Lutz. Then, video shows a gray, four-door vehicle drive toward Calderazzo and his female passenger, running them over.

Neither were seriously hurt.

The report says that Vance attempted to get away, but several witnesses followed them, even with Vance sideswiping one of the witnesses.

Vance was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident without injury.

According to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts, Vance has been convinced on numerous traffic-related charges. In 2012, he was convicted of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. In 2011, he was found guilty three times of driving with a suspended license under various circumstances. He was also convicted of driving under those circumstances in 2006.

Vance was also convicted on other criminal charges involving burglary, drugs and disorderly conduct in 2012.
