Friends of missing woman hold vigil in Altamonte Springs

Myranda Southern, 31, last seen after leaving her job in South Carolina

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – A vigil was held in Central Florida over the weekend for a missing woman who was last seen leaving her job in South Carolina.

Myranda Southern, 31, has been missing since last Monday.

Southern was supposed to be headed to her mother's home in Zellwood, where she would be picking up her two children, but her friends told Local 6, she never made it.

"I know she wouldn't go this long without talking to her kids, so I know something is wrong," said Amanda Fuchs.

Fuchs says she and Southern are best friends, and speak everyday.

Southern grew up in Orlando, graduated from Lake Mary High School and worked at a transportation company before moving to South Carolina two years ago.

On Saturday, her friends and former co-workers held a candlelight vigil at Cranes Roost Park in hopes of bringing more attention to Southern's case.

"I'm scared.   I just want her back, wherever she is," said Fuchs.
