ORLANDO, Fla. - The brother of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who shot and killed Trayvon Martin in Sanford, spoke out for the first time since his brother was charged with second-degree murder in the teen's death.
Robert Zimmerman Jr. said he's glad his brother his safe.
"We have to somehow think that, 'Well, at least there's something good in all of that,'" Robert Zimmerman said. "He can't be attacked this way, he most likely can't be hurt, killed, injured."
Robert Zimmerman also said he still believes his brother's medical records will prove he was attacked before he shot and killed Martin, 17, on Feb. 26.
Zimmerman was arrested and booked into jail in Seminole County late Wednesday night.
Zimmerman is set to appear in front of a judge Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
