German water park bans women from slides

Injuries prompt move; Protective suit being made for women

MUNICH - A German water park is banning women from riding its high-speed slides after several riders were injured, The Local reports.

According to the paper, at least six women have suffered injuries to the genital area while riding the "X-treme Faser" slide at the Galaxy Erding water park.

Riders on the slide can reach speeds up to 45 mph.

A representative for the water park said, "These injuries are caused by the nature of the female anatomy."

The park is working to build a protective suit for female riders.

No men have reported injuries, the paper said.
