Girl, 6, says man pointed gun at her; no gun found on man, Orlando police say

Man says he was holding cellphone when he came across girl

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police have arrested a man who they say pointed a gun at a 6-year-old girl and terrified her on Wednesday.

Milton Johnson, 22, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

Police said the girl was playing with her neighbor's dogs in the backyard of her home on the 2700 block of Messina Avenue when Johnson walked by and pointed a gun at her.

The girl ran inside and told her grandpa, who called 911.

However, police tell Local 6 they did not find a gun on or near Johnson at the time of his arrest.

Johnson lives around the corner from the girl, and says he waved hello to the girl, and had his cell phone in his hand, not a gun.

"They just grabbed my hands, talking about I'm going to jail, for nothing I didn't do," he said.

Johnson's mother, Lashonda Glover, says she had to use her light bill money to bail her son out of jail last night.

She said she has no idea why the girl would make up the gun incident.

Johnson's mom also said her son doesn't own a gun.

"I think they should have searched for the gun, and put on a bigger investigation besides taking him to jail like that," she said.
