Girlfriend wants domestic violence charges against George Zimmerman dropped

Samantha Schiebe says there was argument, but no gun-pointing, court documents say

SANFORD, Fla. – George Zimmerman's girlfriend doesn't want to press charges against Zimmerman after she accused him of pointing a gun at her in their domestic violence incident last month, according to court documents.

Zimmerman was arrested last month after his girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, said he pointed a shotgun at her, smashed a glass table and pushed her out of the house they shared.

According to court documents filed on Dec. 6, Scheibe says there was an argument but Zimmerman "never pointed a gun at or toward my face in a threatening manner."

Schiebe said she wants to be with Zimmerman and wants the order keeping them apart to be lifted so the couple can "talk and be together," according to the court documents.

Schiebe also said in the filing that police intimidated her during the incident and prevented her from calling her attorney, or eating or drinking anything for a "very long time."

"As you know, we provided media with the 911 call from Ms. Scheibe which occurred prior to deputies responding," the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said. "Apparently, Ms. Scheibe may have misspoken about the facts of her interview as she had access to her phone and was provided with food."

Zimmerman, the 30-year-old Neighborhood Watch leader who was acquitted this summer in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, faces charges of aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief charges following the domestic violence incident with his girlfriend.

Prosecutors could continue with the case despite Scheibe's request. It's not clear when that decision will be made.

Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, announced in September that she was filing for divorce from her husband. George Zimmerman was finally served with divorce papers while he was in jail last month, according to Shellie's attorney Kelly Sims.

George Zimmerman has made headlines several times since his acquittal, including a domestic violence incident with his estranged wife, visiting a gun manufacturing facility in Brevard County and rescuing a family from an overturned SUV.
