Good Samaritan rescues driver after car crashes into Lynx bus

Driver taken to hospital; Orlando wreck under investigation

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Good Samaritan rescued a driver who was trapped after crashing his car into a Lynx bus in Orlando.

The crash occurred around 4:25 a.m. Wednesday on Sand Lake Road near Turkey Lake Road.

According to investigators, a 27-year-old driver was headed westbound when he made a sharp right turn and slammed into the back of the bus.  A man walking out of a nearby 7-Eleven witnessed the crash and pulled the driver out of the vehicle. 

"It was kind of hot when I pulled him out of there," said Good Samaritan Chris Blake, who added that he was worried that the car might explode.

The driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, but his condition is not known.

No one was aboard the bus at the time of the crash, deputies said.

The crash remains under investigation.
