Witness held woman out of water, police say
Two Good Samaritans helped save a 70-year-old woman who crashed into a water-filled ditch Friday after suffering a medical condition, according to Cocoa police.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection Range Road and Michigan Avenue in Cocoa.
According to police, the woman struck several vehicles and a sign after having some sort of medical issue. Her car spun out on Range Road at Rosentine and rolled into a ditch, flipping upside down and leaving her head underwater, police said.
A witness jumped into the ditch and held the woman’s head out of water, according to police, who said another witness and two police officers tried to rescue the woman. One of the witnesses held the woman's head while law enforcement officers got her out of the vehicle, police said.
