LONGWOOD, Fla. – Gov. Rick Scott has suspended 62-year-old City Commissioner H.G. "Butch" Bundy, who was injured in November in a rollover crash in Seminole County, after Bundy was charged with driving under the influence.
Bundy and passenger Christine Thompson got into an accident on Ronald Reagan Boulevard at North Street near Lyman High School in Longwood.

The state attorney's office said on Thursday night Bundy will be charged with DUI resulting in a crash with serious bodily injury and reckless driving resulting in a crash with serious bodily injury--both third-degree felonies.
Scott issued the executive order on Friday suspending Bundy from office and "prohibiting him from performing any official act."
Longwood police said alcohol and speed were a factor in the crash in which Bundy ran a red light and struck a median, flipping the car. Bundy was thrown from the car and Thompson was trapped in the car after the crash, according to police.
"There's no difference with a citizen or a commissioner, chief of police, president," said Kevin Tuck of Longwood police. "It is an investigation protocol and policies and procedures were performed the exact same way."
Bundy and Thompson were taken to the Trauma Center at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Officials said Bundy suffered injuries to his head and Thompson was seriously injured. Their updated conditions are not known.
Bundy, a father of two girls and a grandfather, has served as a Longwood city commissioner since 1999. He also served as mayor for two terms.
Bundy and his wife own Longwood Tile and Marble.
Bundy was arrested Thursday night around 6:30 p.m. He has since posted a "No Trespassing" sign.
