Great white shark 'Katharine' spotted on Daytona Beach coast

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Katharine, a great white shark tracked by research group Ocearch, made an appearance off the the coast of Daytona Beach Tuesday morning according to Local 6 news partner Florida Today.

A photo of Katharine, which Ocearch released via Twitter on Thursday, shows the shark in Atlantic waters near Flagler Beach.

The 2,300-pound shark was tracked in Space Coast waters for several days in January, but then ventured north into Volusia County.

Katharine was tagged in Cape Cod in August 2013, according to Ocearch.
