Great white shark tracked off of Volusia County coastline, again

2,300-pound shark tracked by satellite

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 2,300-pound great white shark, Katharine, is back lurking off the coast of Central Florida.

A team from the nonprofit Ocearch has been tracking the great white shark since she was tagged off Cape Cod.

The shark spent quite some time off the Volusia County coastline last year. After moving north toward the Georgia coast for a couple months, she appears to be back near Ormond-by-the-Sea.

Katharine, the shark, has her own Twitter handle and tweeted Thursday she was moving south toward Daytona Beach.
