Gunman sought after man shot in New Smyrna Beach

Victim shot in ear area, police say

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Police are searching for a gunman who they said shot a man in the 600 block of Brooks Street Monday evening.

Police arrived at a Marathon gas station, where the victim, Terrill Jefferson, told them he was shot in the right ear area by a black man he didn't know.

Police said witnesses were able to provide them with a possible suspect vehicle description of a gray or silver sports utility vehicle or van leaving the area.

Jefferson was taken to Halifax Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
