Gunman sought in Daytona Beach store robbery

Man pointed gun at woman, deputies say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A gunman robbed Konnie’s Korner Market near Daytona Beach on Monday, deputies said.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to the Derbyshire Road store at 8:24 a.m.

An employee said an armed man entered the business, pointed a gun at her and demanded money, according to deputies.

After the employee complied, the man ran out of the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen running north, deputies said.

The employee was not injured and there were no customers in the store, deputies said.

Patrol deputies, K-9 units and a Sheriff’s Office helicopter launched a search for the man, but he wasn’t found.

The assailant was described as a white man, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 40-50 years old. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, a black jacket, a red hat and sunglasses.
