Gunmen sought for robbing women in driveways, Orlando police say

Police believe late-night robberies linked

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police need help finding three men who robbed at least two women in their driveways at gunpoint.

One of the cases happened on Shady Lane Drive in College Park, the other on East Amelia Street, both on Monday night within 30 minutes of each other, at 10 p.m. and 10:35 p.m.

Police said in both cases, the men, robbed the women at gunpoint while they were getting out of their cars in their driveways. The men stole purses and in one case, took the woman's car.

Women in the area around both of the crimes said they are now talking extra precautions while the suspects remain free. Some said they plan to reduce the time they spend out at night, while many others said they will pay more attention to their surroundings when getting in or out of their cars.

"I'll probably pay close attention now to who is walking by as I'm getting in," said Brandice Gevry.

"I make sure the garage is closed before I get out of the car now," said Donna Whelcher. "I like my automatic door and I set the alarm at night and I'm just more careful."

Police released a composite sketch of two of the three suspects, however they don't have a composite sketch of the other suspect. Police described the three suspects as black males in their late teens to early twenties, ranging in height from 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 10 inches.
