Afternoon storms possible in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – A sweltering day is on tap Wednesday in Central Florida, with sea breeze storms possible.

"The big weather story will be the heat for the next couple of days in Central Florida," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.  "Temperatures will be warming into the mid-90s into the weekend, but it will feel even hotter."

The coverage of rain in Central Florida on Wednesday will be 40 percent.

"Some storms will be strong, mainly after 2 o'clock in the afternoon," Bridges said.

Drier air works into the region on Thursday, with a 30 percent chance for rain.

Rain chances increase to 50 percent on Saturday and Sunday.

Rip currents will be in the medium category on Wednesday, with seas up to 3 feet.
