TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A hole opened in Titusville on Monday, swallowing a tractor pulling a mower and collapsing a roadway.

The hole, determined by officials to be a washout that collapsed under the weight of the tractor, opened in the 6900 block of Windover Way near the Addison Canal.
Windover Way has been closed in the area, and Brevard County emergency officials tweeted an alert to motorists, urging them to avoid the area.
The tractor was later removed, but officials said school buses will have to be re-routed because of the hole, which was initially believed to be a sinkhole.
Officials said the road collapsed after a 40-year-old metal drainage pipe started leaking. The road will be closed until further notice, and the project repair could cost up to $500,000.
Dan Dandurand said he was trying to cut the grass and when he pulled over to let a car pass, the section of Windover Way collapsed.
"Slow motion, just a sinking feeling that's all," Dandurand told Local 6. "I've never seen anything like this."
No injuries were reported.
