Holiday toy test: Which toys are hot?

Local 6 tests which toys tots want to play with

ORLANDO, Fla. – It may surprise you to see what toys the little ones loved and what they overlooked.

We start with the rocket, a green environment friendly toy. It's BPA-free made with recycled plastics and it was a huge hit for kids. Parents were just as impressed.

"The rocket ship was awesome. It was really durable and had little astronauts that went in it," mother of two, Amber Palmer said.

The Beatrix girls doll made the naughty list.

"It's not age appropriate for us. Her outfit is a bit excessive and the fish net stockings is a little much. Also the heavy promoting of make up," Palmer said.

"I'm not a fan of the torn stockings and the platform shoes," mom, Heather Mallone said.

And apparently neither were the kids.

As for the younger children, the gadget gourmet cooking tools were hot.

"Play kitchen stuff he loves. He would love that because he loves cooking with me," Mallone said.

While some parents were offended by the toy knife in the set others didn't mind it.

And regardless of what you- the parent- might be into, daycare owner of Amaya Papaya, Yolonda Tyler has some good advice while shopping for your little friends.

"Go with your child, sit and watch them play it's important so you can gather information about what they are into," Tyler said.

We should mention some other hot items the kiddos have to have this year. Topping many wish lists is Hug me Elmo, Fisherprice little people, American girl dolls and accessories and Legos are still big sellers.
