HOLLY HILL, Fla. - Holly Hill police are investigating a drowning after a Subway employee pulled a woman from a retention pond on Tuesday morning.

Police said the drowning was reported on the 1800 block of Ridgewood Avenue just before 10:30 a.m.

The Subway worker pulled an white adult female from the pond and began CPR before authorities arrived, police said.

The victim was taken to Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center on for treatment, where she died.

Police said the victim's identity will be released pending next-of-kin notification.

The investigation is ongoing.
