Hot-rods, classic cars at Turkey Run car show

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The annual Turkey Run car show kicked off Thursday morning at Daytona Beach International Speedway, bringing with it classic cars, hot-rods and fun for the entire family.

Jim Brady with Daytona Car Shows said this year the show has several new features including the unveiling of the Embry-Riddle 2013 jet car on Saturday and a Gravedigger monster truck.

The event continues through the weekend, ending Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15.

The Turkey Run shows off old classics, new concept cars and includes an area where visitors can buy car parts. Many of the show cars are also for sale.

Some visitors even rearranged their Thanksgiving plans in order to check out the car show.

"I had turkey last night so I could enjoy cars today," said Stephanie Danner.
