Inactive pineapple grenade found at Orlando home, police say

Police: Resident was gardening when grenade was found

Not the actual grenade found in Orlando.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Officials removed an inactive grenade from an Orlando home Sunday afternoon, police said.

Orlando police and fire crews went to the home after receiving a call about a resident finding a possible grenade around 2:40 p.m., police said.

The resident was gardening at a home on the 1000 block of Marabon Avenue and reported finding the possible grenade, officials said.

Orlando Fire Department personnel examined the item and found that it was an inactive pineapple grenade, police said. Police said the resident did not want to keep the grenade, so the Fire Department removed it.

No other details were available.
