Injured kangaroo hops into airport pharmacy

Workers tranquilize 'Cyrus' to give him treatment

MELBOURNE, Australia - It wasn't the typical type of standoff for airport police in Melbourne.

Officers say a kangaroo hopped onto airport grounds and into the terminal, surprising passengers heading to their gates. The kangaroo -- nicknamed Cyrus -- showed up in the terminal for Qantas airlines, whose logo includes a kangaroo.

The injured kangaroo headed to the best place possible -- an airport pharmacy. Though Cyrus initially refused help, airport workers tranquilized him so a veterinarian could give him the treatment he needed.

The veterinarian took Cyrus to a nearby wildlife shelter. Video posted to Facebook shows Cyrus resting after his treatment.
