Injuries reported in hit-and-run crash involving Orange County school bus

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving an Orange County school bus on Tuesday afternoon with injuries reported.

The accident occurred at Old Winter Garden Road and Pine Hills Road as the bus was taking students home from Evans High School, according to officials.

Seven people from the bus were being assessed at the scene, according to OCFR, and were taken to local hospitals with no major injuries.

Florida Highway Patrol says a a silver SUV hit another vehicle while leaving the nearby Citgo gas station, causing that vehicle to crash into the bus. The silver SUV then left the scene and has not been found.

"I feel like people need to be careful," said Jaclyn Miller, whose 15-year-old daughter was on the bus. "Kids get out of school, everyone knows when kids get out of school and they just need to be careful."

Local 6 news helicopter Sky 6 flew over the scene as students appeared to be boarding another bus.
