Troopers were called to Interstate 4 around 5:30 p.m. Friday for a total of nine crashes that happened between mile markers 121 and 127.

Troopers said four of the crashes happened on the westbound side of I-4 and five of the crashes occurred on the eastbound side.

A preliminary count had a total of 26 cars that were involved in the crashes, according to FHP.

Most of the collisions were rear-end collisions and some of the crashes remain under investigation, troopers said.

At least three people were transported with non-life threatening injuries, but that number could go up as troopers talk to victims at the hospitals, officials said.
