Intruders abducted man from home in drug-related home invasion, deputies say

Injured victim no longer cooperating with Lake County detectives

SORRENTO, Fla. – A Lake County home invasion in which a man was abducted and injured was drug-related, sheriff's officials said, citing the homeowner.

The incident occurred Thursday at 31628 Round Lake Road near the Sorrento-Mount Dora line.

A man visiting the home was abducted, he told deputies, and he was taken to Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares for treatment.  The extent of his injuries were not known.

The victim is no longer cooperating with detectives, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, which also said that the homeowner does not want to press charges.

No other details about the incident, including how the victim escaped or was freed, have been released.
