A man was injured early Friday after a high-end sports car hit a concrete barrier and flipped onto a railroad crossing.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on Fairbanks Avenue near Orange Avenue.
According to police, the driver was heading east when he lost control of his Jaguar XK coupe and hit a barrier in front of some retail shops.
Police said the car, which according to Motor Trend retails for $132,000, flipped on its roof and slid more than 300 feet before it came to a rest on the railroad tracks.
An official on scene told Local 6 the vehicle was purchased 2 days ago.
Two men were in the car at the time of the accident, according to police. The driver walked away from the crash, his passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Fairbanks Avenue was closed and a freight train was delayed for nearly two hours while the accident was investigated. The road reopened before 5 a.m.
Police said charges against the driver are pending while the cause of the crash is under investigation.
