Jurors watch video of moments after Brevard Co. deputy gunned down

Brandon Bradley accused in slaying of Deputy Barbara Pill

VIERA, Fla. – Jurors in the Brandon Bradley trial watched video from the Brevard County Sheriffs Office chopper the day prosecutors say Bradley shot and killed Brevard County Deputy Barbara Pill.

The video shows police trying to stop Bradley's white Ford Explorer.

The vehicle crashed into a street sign. The driver kept going and then crashed into a ditch on the other side of the street.

"Right after we heard the suspect fled, we got in the helicopter as fast as possible and came to the scene," Michael Ryle, one of the chopper pilots, told jurors.

Prosecutors said on Wednesday Bradley and Andria Kerchner, who was his girlfriend at the time, burglarized the Econo Lodge motel on U.S. 192 and was pulled over by Pill later in the day, when Bradley allegedly shot and killed her.

Jurors saw dozens of crime scene photos, including the gun Bradley allegedly used, the SUV he's accused of leaving the scene in and the bulletproof vest that couldn't save the deputy from a gunshot wound to the head.

Kerchner has already pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. She is serving 12 years in prison.

Bradley faces the death penalty.

The trial continues next Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
