Kaitlyn Hunt released from Indian River County jail

Hunt, then 18, charged after having sex with 14-year-old girlfriend

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. – A Sebastian teen accused of having sex with her underage girlfriend when she was 18 years old is out of jail on Friday.

Now 19-year-old Kaitlyn Hunt was released from Indian River County Jail at 1 a.m., according to WPTV.

Authorities say Hunt had sex with her then-14-year-old girlfriend last year and argues the sex was consensual.

Hunt had been in jail since Aug. 19 and accepted a plea deal in October of pleading no contest for charges of battery, interference of child custody and contributing to the dependency of a child.

As part of the deal, Hunt did not have to register as a sex offender and faces two years of house arrest and three years of probation.

A previous plea deal was withdrawn in August following allegations that Hunt exchanged thousands of texts with the girl and sent her nude photos. A judge revoked her bond, sending her to jail, where she remained the past four months.

Hunt is reportedly looking forward to pursuing a career in nursing.
