The closure is between College Avenue and Gabriel Avenue.

City officials said the main break was on Kennedy Boulevard and Johnson Street.

Officials are urging residents to not drink the water without boiling it first.

"Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least (3) three minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water," officials said on the the city website. "Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water."

It's not clear what caused the water main to break.
