NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - People living in one neighborhood in New Smyrna Beach started calling 911 after flyers for the Ku Klux Klan appeared in their community.

Residents living in the area around North Myrtle Avenue say they woke up on Monday and found the flyers placed in plastic bags and weighted down so they wouldn't blow away.

The pamphlets included someone in hooded clothing, the words "Our Race Is Our Nation," and a phone number and website for a Klan group based out of North Carolina.

Local 6 called the number on the flyer and heard a recorded message with anti-gay language urging people to go to the website and join the group.

We contacted New Smyrna Beach Police about the flyers. They say they did take several reports from residents. Police though say the flyers are protected under free speech.
