Lake County brings back buses for dangerous routes

Buses return for kids with dangerous routes to school

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. - When school began last month, many Lake County students and parents found themselves without courtesy busing.

After complaints and outrage from parents, Lake County School Board officials voted to resume free busing for students whose walking routes are considered dangerous.

Dangerous routes are determined by whether or not students have to cross busy highways or have access to sidewalks.

Students who live within two miles of schools but don't have to walk dangerous routes will have to pay two dollars a day to take the bus.

The plan still needs final approval from the school board.
