Lake County horses found severely malnourished; owner arrested

Horses struggle to stand with decaying hooves, officials say

EUSTIS, Fla. – A woman is facing animal cruelty charges after Lake County deputies said they found malnourished horses at a rescue facility.

After an anonymous tip, seven horses were found on Monday at the King's Cove Horse Rescue on Huff Road, near Eustis.

Deputies said some of the animals struggled to stand because they were malnourished and their hooves were decayed.

Deputies said it's not clear if all of the horses will survive.

The owner, Angel King, 46, was booked into jail on a $35,000 bond.
