Lake Mary police talk to George Zimmerman about reported theft
Police asking Zimmerman about theft at in-law's house
Lake Mary police investigators tell Local 6 they have now established contact with George Zimmerman about a reported theft last week at his in-laws' home.
Machelle Dean, mother of Zimmerman's estranged wife Shellie, called police last Thursday to report items, including furniture and a television, had been stolen from their home.
They had rented the home to their daughter and Zimmerman for the last year as he faced trial for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman had finished moving out of the home the day police received the call from Dean.
As they question Zimmerman, police say the list of items allegedly taken from the home is shrinking as the Deans now report they've found the television in another location.
The alleged theft happened in the same home Shellie Zimmerman called police to last month, alleging he was threatening her and her family.
Surveillance video shows George Zimmerman throwing an iPad to the ground. Lake Mary police say they have now purchased a new iPad to help retrieve video files from the damaged one to see if video Shellie shot shows anything that may bring criminal charges against her or George.
Lake Mary police gave no time frame for when they may see the video.
