Lake Mary tops Lake Howell in HS GOTW

Rams use a balance attack to defeat the Silver Hawks 30-0

LAKE MARY – The Clickorlando.com high school game of the week voted on by you, the Clickorlando.com faithful saw the Lake Mary Rams welcome the Lake Howell Silver Hawks to Lake Mary high.

Tonight was not only a special night on the field, it also was what some high school kids will call the greatest high school moment he/she will ever have, the homecoming football game.

The stands were packed, the players were foaming at the mouth ready to get the game on and even mother nature held off the rain for the evening.

Besides the occasional bug or two (it is Florida, right!?) the evening was a picture perfect homecoming game for Lake Mary.

Lake Mary head coach Scott Perry brought his Rams into tonight's contest with a record of 4-0, only allowing 21 points thru 4 games (all 21 points scored by one team by the way).

Lake Howell came into tonight's contest with a completely opposite record of Lake Mary, that being 0-4.

The scoring started fast for the Rams as sophomore Charles Lamar scored twice in the first quarter on runs of about 5-10 yards a piece.
He and Senior running back Keiyshard Bobb really anchored a solid running attack that allowed the Rams leverage to do what they wanted to do on offense all night.

Having a disciplined and balanced attack that kept the Silver Hawks defense wondering and guessing all night.

Rams QB Jake Tipton made the right throws early in the game when he had to.

The score would remain 14-0 going into halftime. Defense was played hard by both teams all night. Sure, the Rams scored some TD's late in the game, but nothing is to be taken away from how hard the Silver Hawks played tonight. The scoreboard doesn't reflect the teams effort. This game was alot closer than 30-0 it felt like.

The third quarter was a repeat of the first two, with Lake Mary controlling the ball and using its two dynamic running backs to run the ball into the Silver Hawks defense. Grinding and gaining 1st down by just inches on third downs.

The Rams would add a field goal and score two more touchdowns en route to a 30-0 victory.

Oddly enough, it was the same score as last year when these two teams met, with the same team, Lake Mary winning also.

Guess the score...yep, you got it 30-0.

The undefeated Rams who are riding a boatload of talent at every position and a winning streak play at Lyman next week while Lake Howell welcomes Oak Ridge at home.
