LAKE WALES, Fla. -

A company has purchased property in Polk County in hopes of building the nation's biggest medical marijuana facility.

According to WTSP-TV, a company called GrowHealthy bought an old mattress plant in Lake Wales in order to renovate the 33-acre property into a marijuana grow house and laboratory.

Don Clifford, CEO of GrowHealthy, told the television station the facility is ideal for its central location and its near a rail line.

The company reportedly hopes to begin producing only Charlotte's Web, a strain of low-potency marijuana legalized by Governor Rick Scott earlier this month. However, the company hopes to expand if Amendment 2 passes in November and medical marijuana becomes legal.
