Fallen officers to be honored at Arthur 'Pappy' Kennedy prayer breakfast

Event pays tribute to life, legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Arthur "Pappy" Kennedy Prayer Breakfast paid tribute Monday to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and two fallen law enforcement officers.

Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton and Orange County sheriff's Deputy Normal Lewis were honored at the annual event.

Clayton was laid to rest on Saturday after she was gunned down in a Walmart parking lot. Lewis was killed in a crash during the response in the search for Clayton's accused killer, Markeith Loyd. His funeral was Sunday.

Monday's breakfast was held by the YMCA of Central Florida at the First Baptist Church of Orlando, the same location where both funerals were held.
