Lawyers for a man convicted after a controversial confrontation with the Orlando Police Department are set to speak out and call for a new trial.
Noel Carter's story made national headlines because of video showing two officers kicking and using a Taser on Carter outside a downtown Orlando club.

Carter is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty earlier this month of battering officers and resisting arrest. Carter's lawyers maintain he is the victim and now they want a new trial.
His attorneys will hold a news conference Monday afternoon, along with several civil rights groups.
Carter is set to be sentenced in September.
