Extra Special Moments
Tonight at 11 -- my colleague Mike Holfeld profiled some of the more exclusive and personal theme park experiences you may not have known aboutm.
Coincidentally, Disney's official blog posted this information about what it calls VIP Tour Services
Here's a quote from their post: "Want to receive the full VIP treatment on your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort? You're in luck, because two new tours, The Ultimate Day of Thrills - A VIP Tour Experience and The Ultimate Day for Young Families - A VIP Tour Experience, are now available at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Both tours last six to seven hours and include experiencing a certain number of attractions... Both tours also include a meal at a Disney table-service restaurant. These tours will be offered Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and cost $299 per person. Disney Vacation Club Members, Disney VISA Cardholders and Annual Passholders receive a 15% discount."
You can read more here.
Disney has other, less-exclusive and expensive backstage tours, as well -- that take you (among other places) into the Utilidors (the "secret tunnels" beneath the Magic Kingdom)
One of the most special experiences is at the Magic Kindom, but you'll have to plan 6 months in advance to dine at "Cinderella's Royal Table" in the heart of the castle.
To make reservations there, call (407) WDW-DINE,
Over at Animal Kingdom you can dangle over crocodiles or cross a rope bridge in the backstage areas of the park's Africa area, even enjoy a small meal. You can usually book Wild Africa Trek day of, except during the really busy times of year.
The cheapest of these amazing encounters is one of my favorites: The Behind the Seeds tour of Epcot's Land Pavilion. It's $20 for adults; $16 for children.
The most exclusive in our area is an entire theme park: SeaWorld's Discovery Cove. And for extra fees, it will provide more special experiences, such as enlisting a dolphin to propose to your significant other.
Sister park SeaWorld also has special exclusive experiences.
As does Gatorland (think birthday parties with your closest reptilian friends)
Similar to Disney, Universal also offers a VIP Experience tour and there are always in-park events.
Not to mention hotel packages that start Sunday giving certain guests exclusive access to The Wizarding World: Diagon Alley. More from Diagon next week.
