Local businesses team up to surprise OPD officers with custom doughnuts

Businesses wanted to show appreciation for law enforcement

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a trying month for our Orlando Police officers, two local businesses teamed up to give them a special surprise Monday morning.

Helton Victor and Alessandra Santos decided to team up to bring Orlando Police custom made doughnuts. Victor said he has a good relationship with police officers because of his media business where he often flies drones. He teamed up with Santos' family who manages, and Rodriguez family who owns a Dunkin Donuts in the Oaks Shopping Center in St. Cloud.

Victor and Santos originally planned to deliver the doughnuts on Jan. 9, which is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. But after the tragic news about Lt. Debra Clayton, they decided to hold off and give the officers time to mourn their fallen colleague.

The two met Monday morning at the St. Cloud Dunkin Donuts and gathered 10 dozen doughnuts for the officers. The doughnuts were custom made and covered in chocolate frosting with a blue stripe across; as a sign of support for police officers. In addition to the doughnuts, they also brought in ten cases of water.

"They were smiling from ear to ear," said Victor about the police officer's reaction to their delivery. "They were so surprised."

Victor said the goal was to thank the police officers for everything they do day-to-day to keep us safe and to show their appreciation.
