1 trapped, critically injured in Lynx bus crash in Winter Park

WINTER PARK, Fla. - A 53-year-old driver was trapped in his car after he crashed into the back of a Lynx bus Monday morning, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Semoran Boulevard near Hanging Moss Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the car, whose name has not been released, was injured when he rear-ended the bus, which was stopped.

Emergency crews worked for nearly a half-hour as they rescued the trapped driver.  He was taken to a hospital with critical injuries, officials said.

There were no reported injuries on board the bus, the FHP said.

An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
