Crash slows traffic at Fairbanks curve

One week after paving, crash shuts down lanes

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A crash has shut down lanes one week after the Department of Transportation finished their paving project at the Fairbanks Avenue curve on Interstate 4.

Three lanes of westbound traffic were shut down on Interstate 4 after a car hit the guard rail and spun out on the highway.

Orange County firefighters report no injuries as a result of the accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.

This accident comes one week after the Department of Transportation completed an overhaul of the road after repeated accidents in this stretch of the road.

The project cost the state $377,838 in hopes of preventing future accidents.
