Deltona firefighter accused of sexual battery

Terry Freeman II accused of raping woman

DELTONA, Fla. – A local firefighter accused of raping and choking a woman denies the allegations, but deputies arrested him after his own statements began to crumble.

Terry Freeman II, 32, is a Deltona firefighter accused of raping a woman he met while shopping for furniture with his girlfriend.

According to an arrest report, the woman said she agreed to meet Freeman at his Orange City house after they met at the furniture store where she works.

Volusia County deputies confronted Freeman with the allegations while he was on duty at his fire station. They interviewed him at the Sheriff's Office next door, and according to the report, the victim said he "grabbed her by her throat" and raped her and later asked if he could see her again, to which she responded "probably not" and walked out the door.

The report said the victim told Freeman she did not want to have sex and repeatedly said "no" and "stop."

Freeman submitted to a lie detector test performed by a Computer Voice Stress Analyzer, but the results were inconclusive.

Freeman initially denied raping her in the report, and said, "This was not sex," but investigators doubt his version of events saying they were inconsistent. Now he's in jail without bond.

Deputies said he's been a firefighter for the past year, but it's still unclear if he still has his job with the Deltona Fire Department.
