Florida teen in murder plot due in court

Marion County deputies: Pedro Solis tried to kill girlfriend's mother

OCALA, Fla. – The Marion County teenager accused of plotting to kill his 13-year-old girlfriend's mother will be arraigned in court on Tuesday.

Pedro Solis, 15, was charged as an adult. Deputies say Solis and his girlfriend, Yaquelin Galvez Don, came up with an elaborate plan to lure the girl's mother to her death in early March.

Galvez Don was also charged as an adult.

Deputies tell Local 6 that Galvez Don lured her mother, Liz Galvez, into the family's garage on March 9. According to the arrest report, Solis was waiting for Galvez in the garage and told her she couldn't stand in the way of his relationship with her daughter. Deputies say Solis slit Galvez's throat, attempting to kill her.

According to the arrest report, Solis went inside the home and held a knife to the throat of the girl's father. However, deputies say the girl's father convinced Solis to drive his injured wife to a hospital.
