Man, woman arrested outside Oviedo movie theater

OVIEDO, Fla. – A woman was arrested early Friday after starting a fight in a movie theater and pulling out a stun gun, according to Oviedo police.

Meg Deborah Frank, 21, of Sanford, was arrested on charges simple assault with threatening to do violence, battery and disorderly conduct.

A man who was with Frank, 21-year-old Casey Robert Gibson, was also arrested and faces charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

The fight broke out around 1:30 a.m. after a showing of the newly released film "The Purge" at the Oviedo Mall theater.

According to an Oviedo police report, Frank brandished a stun gun during an altercation with another woman and pointed it at her, causing it to spark while threatening the woman.  Frank also threw a Slushie at the woman, hitting her with the drink, police said.

The police report stated that Gibson pushed the woman and also hit her with a Slushie.

Police said the incident caused a disturbance among other witnesses and moviegoers.

Frank and Gibson were stopped a short time after they left the Oviedo Mall and admitted to the accusations, police said.  They were arrested and taken to the Seminole County Jail.

It's not known what prompted the incident.

Police at the mall initially told Local 6 that the fight involved a couple and three other women.
