Michael S. Rogers posted a Facebook status threatening to kill his father, police say

OCALA, Fla. – An Ocala man was arrested after threatening to shoot and kill his father in a Facebook status, according to police reports.

Arrest records show the post by Michael S. Rogers, 27, describing a specific plan to purchase a gun and kill his father. Police said that, based on Rogers' history with his father, that he believes it to be a "credible threat."

Rogers was angry at his father for the way he treated his mother, according to the post included in the police report.  Cops also said that Rogers' father lives in Indiana and was told about the status by family members.

Rogers told officers that he wasn't trying to communicate with his father, only vent his frustrations. Police added that Rogers is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm.
