102nd Central Florida Fair comes to town

Roughly 3 tons in food donations collected opening night

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Central Florida Fair opened its gates Thursday, marking the 102nd year the event has come to the area.

The fair kicked off with a $1 admission promotion for anyone who brought a canned food item for donation.

By closing time, organizers had gathered roughly 3 tons of canned goods for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

This weekend's entertainment features a performance from rock band COLD with special guest Saliva at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Also, a LEGO Block Party with building competitions is scheduled for Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m.

Fair admission is $10 for adults (ages 12 and up) and $6 for children (ages 6-11).

The Central Florida Fair runs through March 9.
