Central Florida festival dishes out bacon, brews up beer

Cranes Roost hosts event featuring local vendors and fall craft beer

Get ready to pig out and drink up this weekend because the Beer and Bacon Festival is serving up select bacon-inspired foods and craft brews to the people of Central Florida.

On Saturday, Cranes Roost in Altamonte Springs is the site where 105.9 Sunny FM, MIX 101.5 FM and 102 Jamz will be hosting this free event.

The festival opens at 3 p.m., and there will be beer samplings from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets for a wristband that will allow unlimited 4 oz. beer samples is $25 in advance and $35 the day of the event.

There will be a handful of vendors, including 4 Rivers Smokehouse with their bacon-wrapped jalapenos. There will also be a bunch of beer vendors sampling seasonal, on-tap craft beers, like Woodchuck Hard Cider's Fall and Pumpkin Ales. For the more adventurous crowd, there will also be some interesting bacon-themed items, like The Hammered Lamb's Bacon, Maple and Waffle Cone  Rice Crispy Treat.

The Miller's Orlando Alehouse in Altamonte Springs will be having the official after party for festival-goers and those that couldn't attend, with $1 off each beer that was served or featured at the festival.
