LYNX to break ground on downtown Orlando expansion

'LYMMO' service will expand to 22 new destinations

ORLANDO, Fla. – LYNX -- one of Central Florida's main bus services -- will break ground on an expansion for its downtown Orlando-focused "LYMMO" service.

The City of Orlando and LYNX will start construction on a six-mile expansion project on Wednesday.

The free downtown service will link 22 new destinations, including Thornton Park, Parramore, the Creative Village and downtown Orlando SunRail stations.

Buses will arrive at the new stops every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off peak hours, evenings and weekends. The schedule will be:

  • Weekdays: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to midnight
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The expansion project is expected to be complete in late 2013.
