Man charged with murder for 2005 death

Death initially investigated as a bicycle accident

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County deputies say a man initially thought to have been killed in a bicycle accident was actually murdered. A suspect in the case was arrested Monday night.

Ronald Johnson suffered head injuries in the incident on Raeford Road in Orlando in June of 2005. He died several days later.

Deputies initially investigated the case as an accident involving a bicycle. The Unresolved Death Investigations division of the Sheriff's Office re-opened the case and say after extensive interviews with witnesses, were able to arrest 33-year-old Jason Gailey.

Gailey is charged with second degree murder. He was booked into the Orange County jail late Monday night.
