Man shoots, kills Orlando woman after 2 weeks of dating, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando police have arrested man in North Carolina who they say shot and killed an Orlando woman after the two had been dating for two weeks.

Ryan Doyle, 23, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lora Fischer, 25, who was found dead in her home on Martins Way Sunday night.

Police said Doyle had traveled to North Carolina on his way to his relatives on Kentucky when he shot himself in the arm and threw the gun out of his vehicle in South Carolina. Authorities are still searching for the gun, which is believed to be the same gun that he used to shoot and killed Fischer, police said.

Doyle is in Henderson County Jail and will be extradited back to Orlando.

A motive for the murder hasn't been released. Police said Fischer and Doykle had been dating for two weeks but it's not clear how the two met.
